What we Catch
There are many fish to catch off of Cape Lookout. We fish with our quality fishing tackle. Below we will provide the main species of fish that we will focus on. With the wide range of species, there will be others that may decide they want to join our company in the cooler.
Wahoo
An excellent fighter.
A firm fish that cooks up well.
Dolphin/Mahi Mahi
A colorful fish and as any ocean fish would, a fighter on a tight line. Very sought after fish for its delicacy.
Spanish Mackeral
A very tasty fish and a rich source of Omega-3 fatty acids.
King Mackeral
Most sought after game fish from North Carolina to Texas. It matches its distant relative, the Wahoo, in speed.
Albacore
Known as little tunne or false albacore. Located from Brazil to New England. Found both inshore and offshore. They are not commonly eaten. An extremely sought after sportfish due to their line stripping runs and fighting abilities when hooked.
Bluefish
Another excellent fish to find in the Pamlico Sound. These fish are easy to catch for tonight’s dinner.
Cobia
The Cobia fish are a prized fish and delicacy to angle for and catch here off of Cape Lookout. The beauties can weight in at 100lbs. The ideal time to catch these fish is during their migratory swim in May and June.
Bonita
Great fish for eating. Found both inshore and offshore. Extremely sought after sportfish on light tackle, due to their line stripping runs and fighting abilities when hooked.
Sharks
An easy day of fishing and throwing out some chum. Allowing you to catch one or two big fish with no rush. Enjoy your day in a relaxed fishing mode.
